Summer Beauty Favorites

While my beauty routine stays fairly consistent from the Winter into Summer since I live in a climate that doesn’t vary much, there are still certain products that I reach for once that warmer weather hits. Here are a few of the products I make sure to stock up on! All of these products can be found at either Ulta or Sephora. Leave a comment and share some of your favorite warm weather products!

OGX Extra Creamy + Coconut Miracle Oil Lotion

I don’t know about you, but I always say that i want to smell like peppermint in the Winter and coconut in the Summer. This lotion is amazing! It’s the perfect coconut smell without smelling super sweet. It’s super moisturizing and makes me feel like I’m in Hawaii all summer long. Not to mention, it’s a great price and you can find it at most drug stores.

Sun Bum Coconut SPF 30 Lip Balm

All too often I find myself super proud that I remembered to re-apply sunscreen on my body all day long only to find later on that my lips are the one thing that end up being burned. I like this lip balm because it is made specifically for sun protection, but also hydrates at the same time.

Mario Badesque Facial Spray with aloe, chamomile and lavender

For me, this product is not just a Summer product because I use it all year long, however it is absolutely essential in those warmer months. I spray this on my face all throughout the day when my skin is feeling dry. It’s just so refreshing and seems to give my skin the pick-me-up that it needs. I also use it as a setting spray both before and after I do my makeup. They also make a cucumber/green tea version, as well as an herb and rose water. I love them all, but the lavender is the one I find most invigorating!

Dry bar Mai Tai Spritzer Sea Salt Spray

I love to have the beachy, effortless waves look in the Summertime. If you can’t actually get to the ocean, this sea salt spray is as close as it gets. I’ve tried a lot of different products, and with many of them I don’t seem to notice a difference. This spray works really well and smells great! I’ll spray a little bit while my hair is still damp, and then sometimes a bit more after I’m done curling it. It’s also great to use on it’s own if you’re just letting your hair air dry.

Benefit Cosmetics Watt’s Up! Highighter

We all want to have that super dewy, glowing skin that J-lo has. I love this highlighter because it’s creamy and goes on smooth. I usually apply this to my cheek bones, Cupid’s bow, and the bridge of my nose. It’s also great to put on your shoulders and collar bone if you’re wearing an off-the-shoulder top!

Graphic Tees Please

Everyone loves a good fashion trend, but there’s something to be said for pieces that never go out of style. Graphic tees are absolutely one of those things. I’ve recently fallen back in love with wearing them and here’s why…

1. They’re super affordable and you can find them anywhere and everywhere. The first place to look is in your own closet! I’ve made it a habit of cleaning out my closet every couple of months now to of course make room for the new clothes, but also to donate the things that have been sitting there waiting to be worn. If it’s been a year and I haven’t worn you once, chances are you’re better off with someone who really needs you. My point is, it’s unbelievable what you can find shoved in the back of a closet or your dresser drawers that you’ve completely forgotten about! I’m also a huge fan of thrift stores, which are a great place to find some unique tshirts.

2. They go great with everything! Yes, a graphic tee and a pair of jeans are always a great option…but I’ve been loving the idea of using them to dress an outfit down a bit. Spring is a great time to try this out because it’s when we’re all breaking out the skirts and dresses. Throwing a tee overtop of a flowy dress can be really cute when done the right way. If the t-shirt is oversized, make sure to tie it at the bottom or wear a belt so that you don’t look like you threw your boyfriends shirt over the dress you wore from the night before!

3. They share something about you. We all know there can be shirts out there with some pretty silly sayings on them, so one thing I will suggest is don’t buy it if you don’t feel comfortable wearing it.

The sprinklers decided to turn on in the middle of getting these photos so that’s what the last photo is all about. Whether the neighbors turned them on or it was an automatic timer is yet to be determined…anyway, I hope this outfit idea inspires you to try something different…or to clean out your closet! Let me know where some of your favorite places for graphic tees are!

Mix, Don’t Match

Leather, lace, satin, velvet etc… I love them all! So, why not wear them together? One fashion trend that I’ve been loving lately is not only the mixing of patterns and fabrics, but also styles. Sometimes I want to feel super girly and sometimes I don’t. What’s great is that you can change up the feel of an outfit with just one piece. There may be a super cute lacey dress that you’ve been wanting to wear, but feel like is a bit too dressy for the occasion. Throw on a pair of booties or a leather jacket and you can instantly rough it up.

One lesson that my mom continues to tell me all the time is “it doesn’t have to match…it has to GO”. I think she may have stolen that line from What Not To Wear, but it’s so true! I refuse to fall victim to the belief that you cannot wear black and navy blue together! I feel like spring is one of the best times to try this out. I’m going to make an effort to step out of my comfort zone and try some new things. I’ll be looking for unique colors that go well together and pairing different styles of pieces, like a flowy floral skirt with a graphic tee. What fashion trends are you looking to try this Spring? Let me know in the comments!

My Ride or Die Beauty Must-Haves

Every girl has her list of must-haves. Those staple beauty products that once run out of, they must immediately be replaced. These aren’t products that you’ve just tried once and loved, these are things that are in it for the long haul. Here are a few of mine…

It Cosmetics Your Skin But Better CC Cream

I’ve searched high and low for the foundation that best suits my skin and finally I’ve found it! For me, when I’m looking for a foundation I want something that is full coverage, but doesn’t feel like it is. This product is super lightweight, but covers everything that you need covered up. I have somewhat dry skin, and this is extremely hydrating and stays on all day long. I also love that it has SPF 50 because we all know how important it is to protect our faces from the sun every day! There aren’t a ton of colors to choose from, however I’ve noticed that this cream somehow magically conforms itself to the perfect pigment when I apply it. I use the “light” shade. You can also find this product in a travel size if you want to try it out, but don’t want to spend the money without knowing that you love it first.

It Cosmetics Bye Bye Redness Correcting Cream

No, I am not being sponsored by It Cosmetics (yet), they are just a brand that I love and have found work best for me. If you are someone who struggles a lot with redness like I do then this is the product for you! I apply this when I feel like I really need it to all of my problem areas right before I put my foundation on. On days that I don’t want to put much makeup on, but still want to cover up the splotchy red spots this is a lifesaver! If there is one product that I recommend you try out of this entire list, this would be the one!! I also just purchased the Bye Bye Redness moisturizing cream so I will let you know how that works out when I’ve used it for a bit longer.

Drybar Triple Sec Texturizing Spray

I would say about Ninety-five percent of the time that my hair is down, it is curled or in waves. This spray is great because it helps add texture (especially if your hair is super slick) without making it clumpy or hard. This can be used in combination with an actual hairspray, but most of the time I just use this on it’s own. I curl my entire head and then when I’m finished I’ll go through and spray a bit of this in sections. Another plus is that it smells great! I’m always getting compliments on how my hair smells when I’ve used it.

St. Tropez Classic Bronzing Mist

Just like finding the right foundation can be tricky, so can finding the perfect self tanner. I’ve tried so many products over the years, but this bronzing mist is what I find myself going back to every time. We all know that tanning beds are terrible for you and most of us cannot afford to be getting custom spray tans every week. Since I live in California, I try to keep somewhat of a sun kissed glow all year round because I never know when I’ll be wearing shorts and a tank top. This mist goes on evenly and doesn’t have a terrible smell that stays on your skin like most tanning products do. I just spray in small portions and then blend it out with a tanning mit. It’s really easy to apply more on top if you want a darker result. I also like that it shows up right away and then gradually gets a little bit darker as time passes. You can throw this on before you head out the door and you will notice a difference, but not look like a grease monster that just came out of a spray tan booth. There is a dark version of this that I haven’t tried because I’ve just found that the classic color works perfectly. There’s also a one hour version of this which I have tried. I liked that one as well, but didn’t see much of a difference in how noticeable it was right away. I also found that it doesn’t last as long as this one does.

BVLGARI Omnia Crystalline Perfume

Does anyone else feel like you’re constantly trying new perfumes to find your signature scent that can be worn year-round? I finally found one that I keep wearing time and time again without getting sick of it. This perfume is just the perfect combination of floral and fresh smelling! It’s very subtle, but stands out enough that I’m constantly being asked what it is. I don’t wear perfume every day, so the travel size lasts quite a while for me. It also has a spray top, which seems to be very rare with small perfume bottles.

If you head over to my beauty page I have linked where you can find all of the items above. Leave me comments of your ride or die beauty products!
