Leather, lace, satin, velvet etc… I love them all! So, why not wear them together? One fashion trend that I’ve been loving lately is not only the mixing of patterns and fabrics, but also styles. Sometimes I want to feel super girly and sometimes I don’t. What’s great is that you can change up the feel of an outfit with just one piece. There may be a super cute lacey dress that you’ve been wanting to wear, but feel like is a bit too dressy for the occasion. Throw on a pair of booties or a leather jacket and you can instantly rough it up.
One lesson that my mom continues to tell me all the time is “it doesn’t have to match…it has to GO”. I think she may have stolen that line from What Not To Wear, but it’s so true! I refuse to fall victim to the belief that you cannot wear black and navy blue together! I feel like spring is one of the best times to try this out. I’m going to make an effort to step out of my comfort zone and try some new things. I’ll be looking for unique colors that go well together and pairing different styles of pieces, like a flowy floral skirt with a graphic tee. What fashion trends are you looking to try this Spring?
